Nothing’s ever perfect in this world;

At least that’s what you’re taught.

Nothing’s ever perfect,

Until you’ve seen the sun fade the vibrant world to gray

Not until you realize that the world is not inherently grey.

Yes, the sun drained the colors, but they’re not lost;

They are forever present in the stars, engraved into the night

In the moon, competing with the above lights

In the trees, in the air that we breathe,

In the luminescence that only the deep sea creatures can see;

The colors remain vibrant to the eyes who wish to see them,

To the souls who wish to feel them.

It’s a modification, you see;

To break away from what you have learned all your life

And see the colors again with the eyes of a child

It’s a modification of what you came to believe perfection means.
